Point of sale for jewelry stores

Everything your jewelry store runs on, in one place.

A register that keeps selling when the internet drops, and a back office that knows jewelry: pieces with stones and certificates, repairs and custom orders, layaways, buying gold, customers' birthdays and the reports your accountant asks for.

No card needed to start. Month to month after that.

The register: a sale with a discounted wedding band and watch batteries, Kentucky sales tax, and a Charge button.
The back office's Today page: sales by store, repairs running late, layaways past due and birthdays this week.

What's included

Built around how a jewelry store works

Not a generic retail register with jewelry bolted on. Every screen was made for the counter, the bench and the back office.

A register that never stops

Runs in Chrome on any computer or tablet. If the internet goes out, keep ringing sales, returns, layaways and repairs; everything sends itself when it's back.

Inventory that knows jewelry

Pieces with metal, weight, stones, certificates and photos; tags printed from the register; stock items like batteries by count; memo and consignment with payouts.

Repairs and custom orders

Take jobs in with photos and estimates, send them to your bench jeweler or an outside shop, and tell customers by email or text when they're ready.

Layaways, gift cards and credit

Layaways with payment plans and reminders, gift cards and store credit with a full history, and exchanges that just work.

Buying gold and silver

Today's metal prices, melt value by weight and karat, the seller's ID kept on record, hold periods, and scrap tracked to the refiner.

Customers who come back

Ring sizes, anniversaries and wish lists; automatic birthday and anniversary notes; campaigns, offer codes and rewards, only to people who said yes.

Reports you'll actually use

Sales by day, category and salesperson, sales tax, payments to match against the bank, inventory value and margin, and commissions.

Card payments on Square

Connect your own Square account, and each register sends the amount to its Square Terminal. Card numbers never touch our servers.

One store or several

Inventory, customers and gift cards shared across stores; staff with their own PINs and roles; schedules and commissions for everyone.

A look inside

Clear screens, big buttons, no manual needed

Start every day knowing what needs you

Today shows sales by store, repairs running late, layaways past due, pieces waiting to be picked up, stock running low, and whose birthday is this week.

Today page with sales, things needing attention and birthdays.

Every repair and order, from the counter to pickup

See what's in the store, at the shop and ready, with ready dates and what's owed. Custom pieces and special orders live right beside repairs.

Repairs and orders list with statuses, ready dates and amounts due.

Know your numbers without a spreadsheet

Net sales, tax collected and gross margin for any dates and any store, compared with the period before, by category and by salesperson. Print it or export it.

Sales report with net sales, tax, margin and a chart of sales by day.

Your whole case, searchable

Find any piece by tag, name, style number or certificate. Receive new pieces, print tags, change prices in bulk, and see retail and cost at a glance (cost only for the people you choose).

Inventory list of pieces with tags, categories, stores and prices.

Marketing that runs itself

Turn on birthday and anniversary notes, thank-yous and "we miss you" messages once, add an offer if you like, and they go out every day on their own, from your store's own email address.

A birthday email being set up, with a preview showing an offer code.

Switching over

Bring what you have. We'll help you move.

Export your inventory and customers from your current system as a spreadsheet, and import them here: match the columns, check the preview, done. We'll set up your first store with you.

Optional: texting customers

Text "your repair is ready" and layaway reminders from your store's own number. US carriers require a one-time registration, which we handle for you. It's billed at what it costs us plus 25%: $21.25 to set up, $13.75 a month, and each text at cost.

Card processing

Cards run through your own Square account at Square's rates, paid straight to you. We don't add anything to card fees.

Questions

Good to know

What happens if the internet goes down?

The register keeps working: sales, returns, layaways, repairs, customers and the cash drawer. Everything is saved on the device and sends itself when the connection comes back. Only the Square card terminal needs the internet; a card run on a separate machine can still be recorded.

What hardware do I need?

Any computer or tablet that runs Chrome. For receipts, an 80 mm receipt printer (most open the cash drawer too), a barcode scanner if you'd like one, and a Square Terminal for cards.

Can I bring my inventory and customers over?

Yes. Export them from your current system as a spreadsheet (CSV) and import them in the back office. You match the columns and see a preview before anything is saved, and nothing already there is ever overwritten.

Is my data safe, and is it mine?

Each store's data is kept separate from every other store's, sign-ins are protected against guessing, and card numbers are handled by Square, never by us. Owners can download everything as spreadsheets at any time.

Is there a contract?

No. It's month to month, and the trial is free for 30 days with no card needed. Add a card on the Billing page whenever you're ready.

Who do I call when I need help?

Ask from the Help menu in the back office (screenshots welcome) and a real person answers there and by email. Or write to support@westendsystems.com.

Try it in your store for 30 days, free.

No card, no contract. Set up in an afternoon.
